The update covers the human rights situation in Ethiopia with a focus on northern Ethiopia. It provides an overview of human rights trends in Ethiopia for 2023, as well as some pertinent developments in 2024, based on OHCHR’s global mandate to promote and protect human rights, key policy and legislative initiatives on human rights, as well as of technical support provided to the Government and non-governmental organizations.
