Country visits
Special Rapporteur on human rights defenders
Country visits are an important component of the Special Rapporteur’s mandate. The aim of such visits is to obtain first-hand information and examine in detail the role and situation of human rights defenders in the country, to identify the challenges they face when promoting and defending human rights, to report on the findings and propose recommendations to improve their situation in a spirit of cooperation and assistance.
