Purpose: Inputs and specific information on business enterprises involved in the activities detailed in paragraph 96 of the report of the independent international fact-finding mission to investigate the implications of the Israeli settlements on the civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights of the Palestinian people throughout the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, pursuant to HRC resolution 31/36 and follow-up HRC resolution 53/25.

Background

The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights is entrusted with the mandate to produce a database of all business enterprises engaged in certain Israeli settlement activities in the Occupied Palestinian Territory pursuant to Human Rights Council resolution 31/36 and follow-up Human Rights Council resolution 53/25.

Objectives

Pursuant to HRC resolutions 31/36 and 53/25, the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights is conducting research and invites inputs to inform with a view to inform the preparation of a report to the Human Rights Council in implementation of this mandate to produce a database of all business enterprises engaged in certain Israeli settlement activities in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.

Key questions and types of input/comments sought

Contributors can provide any inputs and specific information relating to the objective of the mandate to produce a database of all business enterprises engaged in certain Israeli settlement activities in the Occupied Palestinian Territory pursuant to Human Rights Council Resolution 31/36 and follow-up Human Rights Council Resolution 53/25. Submissions can be sent in the format of an email, letter or report but should not exceed 2,500 words.

How inputs will be used

The submissions received following this call will not be made public. Contributors will not be identified in the report with their names. The report may however provide data points on the general source of contributions (e.g. States, CSOs, business, academic, others).
