Summary

The Special Rapporteur on the right to education, Farida Shaheed, visited the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) from 16 to 20 January 2023. The present report reflects the discussions held on the current and future challenges to the right to education with many people across the organization and other stakeholders during and following the visit. It contains a summary of the Special Rapporteur’s main findings and recommendations, in particular her recommendation to enhance cooperation with UNESCO under the mandate.
