CHITWAN BUS ATTACK

Kathmandu - The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Nepal strongly condemns the attack on a bus in Chitwan district, yesterday, which killed and wounded dozens of people.
OHCHR joins Secretary-General Kofi Annan in expressing condolences to the bereaved and injured. This terrible incident constitutes a grave breach of international humanitarian law, for which the perpetrators should be brought to justice.
The OHCHR in Nepal is mandated to monitor the observance of international humanitarian law, and is sending a team to investigate. It appeals for anyone with information about those responsible to come forward and assist its investigation.
