In her report prepared pursuant to Council resolution 38/14, the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Belarus, Anaïs Marin, described widespread and systematic violations of human rights in law and practice. The Special Rapporteur's conclusions suggest that no significant improvement has been achieved and that it is necessary for the Belarusian Government to clearly demonstrate its commitment to addressing long-standing criticism by initiating concrete and lasting changes. Based on his conclusions, the Special Rapporteur makes a number of recommendations to the Government of Belarus and the international community.
