For 30 years, the United Nations Voluntary Trust Fund on Contemporary Forms of Slavery has assisted hundreds of thousands of victims of slavery to access vital rehabilitation services in every region of the world.

30 profiles of survivors and practitioners

To mark its 30th anniversary, the Fund will publish 30 profiles over 30 days, starting on 2 December, the International Day for the Abolition of Slavery. The 30 stories will feature people from all corners of the globe who have survived the unthinkable and have managed to rebuild and give back. All continue to fight for the right to rehabilitation, healing, and humanity for slavery survivors.

Impact on the ground

The Fund awards grants to civil society organizations that provide health care, shelter, food, legal representation, vocational training, education, and income-generating support to slavery survivors. In 2023, the Fund awarded 38 annual grants to assist over 7,700 slavery survivors in 32 countries around the world for an amount of USD 760,000.
