30th Anniversary of the Convention
20 November 2019 – A series of events took place in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Convention. The Committee encouraged States parties to renew their commitment to the Convention by pledging to take one specific and measurable action for the promotion, protection and realization of the rights of the child. OPIC Signing ceremony
28 February 2012 – The Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on a communications procedure (OPIC) was opened for signature on 28 February 2012 in Geneva. 20 States signed the Optional Protocol.

20th Anniversary of the Convention
20 November 2009 – On 20 November 2009, the international community celebrated the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The celebration focused on the theme “Dignity, Development and Dialogue,” and took place in Geneva on 8-9 October 2009.
